“A Postmodern Portrait of Emmett and Louis Till” 2021
In this painting, the Artist first created from his imagination a composite image that doesn’t exist; that of father and son in the 1940’s.
The purpose of this work is to bring to light the tragic story of Emmett Till’s father, Louis Till, who was lynched by the US government in Italy during WW2.
The Artist uses a loose application of paint to shine a sense of grace on this traumatic story.
