This self portrait painted at the age of 25, is a prime example of the academic rigor involved in Thelonious’ work.

Whilst showcasing a traditional palette the Artist infuses a sense of modernism by displaying himself dressed in a hoodie and long coat.

‘This work is inspired by the tragic execution of 17-year old Trayvon Martin, utilizing the manner of loose yet direct impressionistic marks of the Swedish artist Anders Zorn.
